Another Great Snow Day for Hockey

A snow day has been declared and the Arena is open for pond hockey.  Due to the need to clear the parking lots, the schedule has been pushed back one hour and is as follows:

9:30 am Midget/Bantam Pond Hockey (18 and under)
10:40 am PW Pond Hockey (12 and under)
11:50 am Squirt Pond Hockey (10 and under)
1:00 pm Mites Pond Hockey (8 and under)
2:10 pm Learn to Play & Break the Ice Pond Hockey with Parents—All parents must wear a helmet

Please watch our for plows and be careful in the parking lots and walkways since it is continuing to snow and we will be clearing those areas

Pond Hockey Rules

Pond Hockey is free for all registered Casco Bay Players and costs $10 for all other players.

Pond Hockey is played without goalies and with standard pond hockey goals. No goalies in pads will be allowed on the ice.  All goaltenders should skate out.

In all sessions, players 18 years old and younger must wear a helmet with full mask.  Adults must wear a helmet, but are strongly encouraged to wear a full mask.

Pee Wee players and older do not need to wear full pads, but a protective cup and shin pads are strongly recommended since saucer passes are allowed (ie soft passes off the ice).  Hard passes off the ice are not allowed, but deflections should be expected by all players.  Protect your anatomy accordingly.  However, Squirt players and younger must wear full equipment.

Age Groups

All sessions are coed and non-checking.  Players may play up or down a level for any sessions.  For instance, a Midget can play in a Bantam session, and a Pee Wee can also play in a Bantam session. Older players should recognize that it is good form to set up younger players for scoring opportunities.  Please remember that all  games are non-checking.  If there are too many players for a session, older or younger players outside of the age group may not be able to play.
