Week of Pond Hockey

We have plenty of Pond Hockey this week at Casco Bay Arena.  As always, these sessions are free for all Casco Bay players. All other players must be registered with USA Hockey and must pay $10 to the Zamboni driver before going on the ice.

Please remember that in all sessions, players 18 years old and younger must wear a helmet with full mask.  This should be obvious, but a half-shield is not a full mask.  Players wearing half-shields will not be allowed on the ice.  Adults must wear a helmet, but are strongly encouraged to wear a full mask.

Pee Wee players and older do not need to wear full pads, but a protective cup and shin pads are strongly recommended since saucer passes are allowed (ie soft passes off the ice). Hard passes off the ice are not allowed, but deflections should be expected by all players.  Protect your anatomy accordingly. Squirt players (Age 10) and younger must wear full equipment.

We always play pond hockey with no goalies and box goals. Goaltenders should skate out to work on their skating skills and to get bragging rights by dangling their teammates.
